“TYPESETTING”

Verb
typesetting
present of typeset

Noun
typesetting
(typography) The setting or composition of written material into type.

Tricolour Design was born in 2007 out of a need for balance. It helps me juggle family & work lives. It allows me to use the typesetting & graphic design experience garnered while working in the publishing industry for the past 15 years.

I am based just outside the lovely market town of Sudbury, Suffolk. Financial publishers, but also start-ups, bloggers & SMEs, seek my services for the odd logo design, maybe a business card, a leaflet or two, but mainly to typeset financial books (it has become my speciality…).

When typesetting financial books I usually receive copy in the form of a Word document, along with figures (preferably, but not exclusively, supplied as Excel or Powerpoint files). I then put the book together with the help of InDesign, Photoshop & Illustrator. Some clients have a house style, some do not. In the case of the latter I will work with clients in order to find a layout that will work for them.

The typesetting critics

I am a lone wolf, which has its advantages: there is no one around to distract me as I work away on projects.

You deal with me and only me. So there is no delegation, no chasing different designers/typesetters for different elements of a project. I handle projects from start to finish, from initial drafts to getting the right printer.

Have a look around and if you like what you see email valerie@tricolourdesign.com.
